“If you watch your pennies the dollars will watch themselves”

An old saying, but interesting.  I once had a client in the restaurant business.  Fish and shellfish were delivered daily.  The establishment paid the fisherman based on the number of pounds of fish and clams received.  The owner had no way of verifying how much fish he actually received and grew increasingly concerned that he was paying for “water weight” and not actual product.  The establishment resolved the issue by installing a large scale at the delivery location.  Every time a fish delivery occurred, the product was weighed and a label was printed and attached to the invoice.  The restaurant determined that they were paying an extra 1/3 over what they were receiving.  The scale paid for itself and the restaurant instantly became more profitable.

Have you considered where you can save pennies?  It will probably put more dollars in your pocket!
